About

Two riders. One country.
A thousand trails left to ride.

Cross Macedonia started in a garage in Tetovo with a borrowed KTM 350 EXC-F, a GoPro that wouldn't focus, and a half-cooked plan to film every dirt road in the country before winter. Three seasons later, the bike is paid off and the plan is still running.

We are Damjan and Pierre — one local, one French expat — who fell in love with the unmarked, half-forgotten gravel network that stitches together the Balkans. North Macedonia sits at the crossroads of Šar Planina, Pelister, Galičica and Demir Kapija — four wildly different riding regions, all reachable from Skopje in under three hours.

Most of what we do is simple: we ride a route, we film it on helmet and chest cams, we mark every junction on a GPS, and we come home and write it up. The good loops go on YouTube. The honest ones go in the journal. The ones we'd send our own friends on are the ones we make into itineraries.

Cross Macedonia is also a small enduro guided tours Macedonia operation. We run two-rider, three-rider and four-rider weeks from May through October, with a chase truck, a mechanic, and an absurd amount of borek for breakfast. If you're thinking about your first motorcycle adventure Balkans trip, the journal is a free starting point. The guided week is when we ride together.

We built this site to fill a gap. When we first looked for English-language information on off-road riding North Macedonia, the results were thin. A handful of forum threads. Some scattered Strava heatmaps. A YouTube channel that hadn't posted since 2019. We figured we'd write the site we wished had existed when we started.

The trails are out there. Pull on your boots.
